Each year, the Minnesota Economic Development Foundation awards one thousand dollar ($1,000) grants to EDAM Members to cover a portion of the cost to employ an intern that will focus principally on economic development related work. In 2019, ten awards were granted to EDAM member communities and organizations.
Internship grants are awarded based on a competitive review process and will be evaluated using the following criteria:
- Employer must spend at least $2,000 on direct intern compensation.
- Quality of the proposed work tasks and exposure to economic development projects.
- Program of supervision and mentorship opportunities.
- Must be an EDAM member to apply for internship grant.
Please visit the Minnesota Economic Development Foundation website to learn more about past recipients and their experiences (www.mnedf.org). Applications will be accepted through the end of the business day on Friday, February 28, 2020. Click here to access the internship grant application. Recipients will be notified by no later than March 27.
