Trevor Dittberner recently completed his internship with the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation. Here is what he had to say about the experience:
This past spring I had the opportunity to intern with GSDC and work with their various team members on improving and serving the St. Cloud region. When I worked with Gail Cruikshank, I focused on the new GSDC website portal and offered insight to improve the understanding of GSDC’s purpose and what they are all about. I also would revise blogs in the paper (in my own words) and put them on the website. They usually consisted of how to prep for job interviews, deal with losing a job and how to look for new jobs. When I worked with Larry Hosch it was focused on business development and retention/expansion concepts. Occasionally he would take me on business visits and meet with investors to sustain a point of contact and see if they needed anything from us. I created a document for our business retention and expansion team to have a guideline to follow when visiting our investors, making sure we gather the valuable information about all our investors. I also helped Sonja Gidlow with the marketing division of GSDC. That consisted of sitting in on meetings with her and taking notes. I appreciated sitting in on these meetings because it helped me understand the flow of a meeting and to generate quality questions. There were a handful of events GSDC put on during my time there and whenever I had down time I helped set up for these events and organize handouts for the events.
