Katherine See recently completed an internship with the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation. This is what she had to say about the experience.
During my time at Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation, I gained several skills that will aid in my future career. I learned how to collect information and present it concisely through my work in creating guidebooks. I also learned how to collect numerical data and present it in a more organized and understandable fashion through my work in the creation of several data reports. I was able to strengthen my writing skills through the creation of these guidebooks and reports.
I also strengthened several skills through my work with Around Cloud Tutors. I strengthened my problem-solving skills within communications with students, parents, and tutors by resolving miscommunications and conflicts. I also worked on my problem-solving and teamwork skills by partnering with the program manager, Amelia Barkley, to find ways to resolve unmet needs within the program. I strengthened my communication skills through daily communication with students, parents, and tutors to ensure that the program ran smoothly. While I did not take over full ownership of this program, taking responsibility of the day-to-day program management tasks during my internship was essential in building interpersonal and administrative skills.
