My internship with APEX has been incredible in many ways, and I have gained invaluable experience and knowledge through working with this outstanding company. I have been invited to take an active role in various business development projects, as well as in the administrative functions of the office.
Being relied upon to carry out essential tasks for business development projects has taught me the importance of collaborating with my colleagues to achieve set goals as well as the importance of meeting those goals on time to facilitate the efficient completion of projects. I have learned, through working with the APEX CEO & staff and by attending Board and staff meetings, the formal conduct required in professional business settings. My time with APEX has also taught me how to conduct professional research for business development and an understanding of how research is part of the due diligence involved when determining a target industry to attract to the region. In addition to this, I have learned how to create formal documents with the data collected during business development projects for presentation purposes. Another skill I have acquired is the editing and maintenance of the APEX website.
This internship has equipped me with experience and knowledge which will be invaluable to me as I begin my career in the business world. I am extremely grateful to APEX for the responsibilities they have entrusted to me as well as the support they have provided during the last two months.
