Interning for the past 6 months at the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce has been a great learning experience. I have been able to work with the policy team as well the economic development team. Working with these teams has given me a well-rounded view of the work of the Minnesota Chamber. I have seen how the voices of the business community, both big and small, shape the Chamber’s legislative agenda.
Interning for the Grow Minnesota! Team has shown me the importance of business retention and the variety of challenges facing businesses. It has been a great experience to participate in the Grow Minnesota! business visits and see how different companies operate within the state. This is my first experience working for an agency on a state wide level and it has been very interesting to see how the challenges of greater Minnesota differ from the Metro Area. My work at the Chamber has been great to pair with my graduate school studies and has helped me to shape my view of our state. This internship has allowed me to cultivate new communication skills as well as new technology skills.
