Upper Midwest Basic Economic Development Course

Establish a firm foundation for your career with this comprehensive five-day course accredited by the International Economic Development Council.

  • April 27 – May 1, 2020, at Great River Energy in Maple Grove
  • Scholarships available for Minnesota economic development professionals

IEDC Advanced Two-Day Training Courses 

Real Estate Development and Re-Use September 22-23, 2020 Hyatt Regency, Minneapolis

Neighborhood Development Strategies September 24-25, Hyatt Regency, Minneapolis

  • Scholarships available to EDAM members

Hamline University Economic Development Certificate Program

  • The Hamline Certificate is to designed to enhance the participants’ overall knowledge of economic development ranging from finance to negotiation. On site development project visits are included. https://www.hamline.edu/business/cpal/economic-development/
  • Sessions run two days per month November 2020 – June 2021
  • Scholarships available to EDAM members; applications due July 20, notification August 10

Economic Development Academy (August 2020)

  • Career exploration for interns and early-stage economic developers
  • Learn from young and mid-career professionals about career paths and job opportunities
  • Watch MNEDF website and EDAM for schedule

Community Internships Available Again this Spring – Only for EDAM Members

  • $1,000 to each community/organization; at least 1:1 match required
  • Watch EDAM communications for application process in the first quarter of 2020
