Economic Development Internship Funds Available

Posted by Colleen on January 10, 2023

Each year, the Minnesota Economic Development Foundation awards grants to EDAM members to cover a portion of the cost to employ an intern that will focus principally on economic development related work. Over the past seven years, 72 community internship grants have been awarded to EDAM member communities and organizations.

Two-thousand dollar ($2,000) internship grants are awarded based on a competitive review process and will be evaluated using the following criteria:
• Employer must spend at least $2,000 on direct intern compensation.
• Quality of the proposed work tasks and exposure to economic development projects.
• Program of supervision and mentorship opportunities.
• Must be an EDAM member to apply for internship grant.

Internship Grant Application

Applications will be accepted through the end of the business day on Friday, February 23, 2024.
Recipients will be notified by no later than March 29, 2024.

If you have questions regarding this grant opportunity, please contact Leslie Dingmann.
